Jewel Branding & Licensing has announced its global licensing representation of Amber Vittoria, an artist and poet based in New York City. Vittoria uses ribbons of color and poetry to focus her work on expressions of emotion and the female form. Vittoria’s work has been acquired by collectors worldwide and featured in collaborations with Warby Parker, adidas, Le Bon Marche, Instagram, Facebook and other brands.
Taking advantage of the fluidity of her ink, color pencil and acrylic paints, Vittoria creates aqueous rainbow gradients that dominate her compositions. Punctuated by simple graphite line drawings and words, her work draws on her relationship to femininity, emotion and societal expectations.
Vittoria’s upcoming book “These Are My Big Girl Pants,” launching next year from Andrews McMeel, depicts the complexities and nuances of being a woman in this world and embraces womanhood and its inherent intricacies. A celebration of femininity and the female body, “These Are My Big Girl Pants” leverages naïve artistic approaches, like simple lines and brush strokes, against deep and meaningful poetry and prose, creating a true exploration of individuality, female empowerment and emotion.
“We’ve been longtime fans of Amber and her bold, colorful and modern designs,” says Beth Hooker, vice president, licensing, Jewel. “She’s had some amazing collaborations, and we’re looking forward to building on that success to further extend her brand and unique point of view through licensing.”
