Fashion brand introduces over 50 botanical-inspired pieces in a global capsule collection.
British fashion label, Reiss, has partnered with the New York Botanical Garden (NYBG) to launch a capsule collection inspired by the Garden’s vast archive of botanical illustrations. The Reiss | NYBG collection marks NYBG’s first brand collaboration in Europe.
The women’s and girls’ collection blends Reiss’s signature tailoring with floral prints and vibrant colors drawn from NYBG’s rare book collection. Spanning over 50 styles, the line includes occasion wear, denim, swimwear, T-shirts, coordinated sets and more.
“We all watched in wonder as the collection came together,” says Claire Potter, managing director, Metrostar. “It really is the most amazing showcase for NYBG’s stunning archive and the perfect way to launch the New York Botanical Garden partnership program in Europe.”
Reiss’s design team visited the NYBG archives in New York to reimagine historical illustrations into modern silhouettes. The resulting designs reflect the brand’s contemporary aesthetic with a botanical twist.
“We were inspired by Reiss’s creative vision and are thrilled to see how beautifully our historic illustrations have been reimagined,” says Christa Boeke, vice president, licensing, NYBG. “It’s a wonderful way to share our conservation story and connect with audiences in Europe and beyond.”
“We are thrilled to partner with the New York Botanical Garden, bringing their rich botanical heritage to our contemporary designs,” says Una Joyce, chief creative officer, Reiss. “This collaboration combines our modern Reiss design aesthetic with bold, colorful blooms, harmoniously blending style and nature into luxurious summer wardrobe staples and offering our customers unique pieces that celebrate both fashion and flora.”
The Reiss | NYBG collection is available globally through Reiss.com, select Reiss stores, and major department stores including Selfridges (U.K.), Brown Thomas (Ireland), Bloomingdale’s (U.S.), De Bijenkorf (Netherlands), Breuninger (Germany), Saks (U.S.), David Jones (Australia), Citi Moda (Ukraine), Freedom (Greece) and Jashanmal (Middle East).
The collaboration was brokered by NYBG’s European licensing agent, Metrostar, in partnership with its U.S.-based master agent, Jewel Branding & Licensing. Proceeds from the collection support NYBG’s work in global plant research, conservation, horticulture and education.
