The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation has partnered with Surya to marry Wright’s timeless architectural genius with Surya’s textile craftsmanship in two exciting new handmade rug collections.
Wright’s work is celebrated in two rug collection debuts: Transcendence and Luxuries. The designs are a testament to Wright’s style, featuring geometric precision, organic motifs and a harmonious fusion of nature and structure. Transcendence, a hand-knotted collection made from New Zealand wool with viscose accents, celebrates the architect’s practice of abstracting the natural forms around him into their essential, underlying geometry, and Luxuries, a hand-loomed collection, draws its inspiration from the rectilinear grids that Wright used as the foundation for his decorative and architectural designs.
“Wright believed that the beautiful objects we surround ourselves with enrich our lives, and we at the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation feel that these exquisite rugs from Surya in rich textures and delightful forms will greatly improve the lives of those who purchase them,” says Sally Russell, director, licensing, The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation.
“We are thrilled to partner with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation to bring Wright’s legendary designs to life in the form of stunning rugs,” says Satya Tiwari, president, Surya. “We believe this collaboration will inspire and captivate design enthusiasts around the world.”
The partnership was brokered by the foundation’s licensing agency, Jewel Branding & Licensing. Jewel Branding and Licensing will be exhibiting at Licensing Expo, taking place May 21-23 in Las Vegas, visit them at booth C134.
